Smithtown Resident James Winters Named to Waste360's 40 Under 40 List

Since beginning his tenure at Winters Bros. in 2022, James has been instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency within the company. His keen insights and expertise, nurtured by years spent honing his proficiency in all sectors of the waste and recycling industry, have led to the successful integration of new technologies, and improved route productivity and safety operations at Winter Bros. Specifically, James played a pivotal role in implementing the Third Eye program, which significantly enhanced safety measures and accountability across the organization.
Outside of his contributions to Winter Bros, James also dedicates his time in support of the Winters Center for Autism, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and providing a sense of fulfillment for adults with autism through job creation, training, and placement. Most notably, James assisted in the development of a waste collection and recycling route that can be completed by workers with autism as part of the Winters Center’s “Hire for a Higher Cause” program.
