Dozens of people arrested by immigration agents in Greater Boston are being held in "abysmal" and "unsanitary" conditions in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Burlington, Massachusetts, say lawyers. In interviews and affidavits filed in federal courts, several lawyers reported their clients described being hungry, cold, and terrified. Lawyers say their clients lack access to showers and a sink, meaning they cannot wash their hands after going to the toilet, and sleep on concrete floors. "There is no privacy, no beds, no medical care, very little food," said Sarah Sherman-Stokes, a law professor and director of Boston University's Immigrants' Rights & Human Trafficking Clinic.
