LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT, STEP FORWARD by The Gent

So here we are in 2025 and most of us are still looking at life as black or white, male or female, meat or vegetable, young or old, Democrat or Republican. Shouldn’t there be a spectrum of colors for identifying a person? What shade of white? What shade of brown? What shade of black? The paint department at Lowe’s has tons of shades. The ladies have 100+ hair color dyes to choose from. It’s not just black or white. She wears pants and cuts her hair short all the time. He wears earrings and has long wavy hair. Can you tell him or her? She dates men and women. He dates no one. She eats vegetables because she’s against killing animals. Are you not killing a living organism when you eat a plant? Are you not killing trees to put a roof over your head? Don’t many animals survive because of these plants and trees? Teenagers think 20s are old, 20s think 30s are old, and on and on. A Republican believes in a strong military. A Democrat thinks there should be a pathway for undocumented immigrants to become citizens. Can they believe in both? What is their true political persuasion? Are you overweight? Are you fat? Or, are you Obese? Isn’t there a spectrum? Shouldn’t we be thinking about things on a much deeper level in order to get along? When dealing with each other, there must be a broader picture in our minds.

There is a myriad of things for us to look at on a much larger spectrum. To start with, I believe the word "race" should be taken out of the lexicon.
