As the holiday season unfolds, I find myself reflecting on the world around us. While we witness the visible conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, it’s important to recognize another battle being waged—one that’s quieter but no less significant. A psychological and technological war is happening right under our noses, a struggle for freedom versus tyranny.
Every day, we are bombarded with a deluge of information—some designed to mislead, confuse, and sow division. Across oceans, vast networks of adversaries use technology to saturate us with misinformation, challenging our ability to discern truth from falsehood.
In the face of this, we must hold firm. We must teach our children—and remind ourselves—to be strong, independent thinkers and remain humble, kind, and steadfast in our belief in democracy. For all its flaws, democracy remains the best of the imperfect systems for governing humanity. It is a fragile but resilient force that depends on us to nurture and protect it.
Vigilance is our greatest ally now more than ever. Let us stay awake to the challenges and work toward a better world, one small act of courage, kindness, and truth at a time.
Happy Holidays to you and yours. May this season bring peace, hope, and renewed strength for the journey ahead.
