LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT, STEP FORWARD by The Gent

The last thing we need in the Oval Office is a president who is feeble or mentally unstable. I cannot help but think that watching that debacle of a debate the other night showed one man feeble, and the other man unstable. We must hope that the Constitution has means for the population to have better choices. Perhaps an open convention for both the Democrats and Republicans will give us two presidential candidates that we could have some reasonable confidence in electing.

In a world where terrorists can roam freely due to our porous borders, it scares me that another 9/11 is possible. How did our country get to this point? Our brightest men and women shy away from politics because of its stigma and intrusion on their private lives. There have to be some limitations on intrusion. It seems to me in a world that's getting smarter and smarter every day, It also confuses and threatens itself more and more each day. If we could create an algorithm and punch in candidates with exemplary credentials and history, let us allow AI to pick our president. We as a nation are doing an unsavory job. At this moment in our history, the choices for president are a feeble old man and a mentally unstable one! God help us.
