LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT, STEP FORWARD by The Gent

Here’s a kaleidoscope sketch of America. Everyone has something to protest whether it be protesting for civil rights, transgender rights, LGBTQ rights, antisemitism, anti-Islam, assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and other countries, animal rights, freedom of speech, freedom to bear arms, conservatism, liberalism, and I could go on and on. There are over 190 countries in the world. The United States probably has over 190 nationalities thinking their native country is the best and deserves foreign aid from the United States! There is no other country like ours, some new rules to keep the rule of law intact must be followed. I suggest that there be no protesting outside of "Protest Plaza.” That's right, each town and city must designate an area for protesting. There should be no protesting where education is taught. The universities should be there to educate our children and nothing else. Of course, to protest, you must get a permit that's the rule. This should be a federal law. To protest you can't wear a mask, and you can't carry any kind of weapon. I believe that there should be facial identification for everyone who wants to protest and that they must prove to have "skin in the game." That means that if they're protesting animal rights in Spokane, Washington they can't have been living in Key West, Florida their entire life. I think you get my drift. Allowing the public to protest wherever they want is irrational in today's society. There will always be those who will abuse the privilege and consequently, we’ll get what is on our college and university campuses today. The abuse of privilege has to stop. JG
