Over the weekend as is customary, I was speaking to a prominent attorney who is a longtime friend of mine. We both have our issues concerning where our country is headed. I am a registered independent. He is a registered Republican. We are always tossing different ideas around concerning society and the direction of our country. Look at what is happening all over the world and in our universities. What magic bullet can dramatically assist in turning the tide of self-destruction?
Here is a dramatic idea that we all should contemplate. President Biden has to make a monumental decision by first making a proper introduction to the people of America. Our President must state for the sake of our country and our future that this one distinct move will stem the tide of insurrection and hatred. He should federally pardon former President Trump, and rely on his record to win his reelection. There are over 72 million people who think these indictments are all politically motivated. For the sake of the country and democracy, this one move will take the fire out of the eyes of all the violent radical groups who are ready to morph our great nation into another Civil War. None of us want our children and grandchildren to witness civil disobedience on the streets of America. Let the chips fall where they may.
President Biden has to reach out specifically to the Democratic leadership in New York State, Georgia, and Washington DC and express to them that he wants to win his election on the merits of the last four years and drop all charges against former President Trump. In my opinion, let the women and voter eligible youth of America as well as the rest of us, decide in what direction our country should go. If you have a better solution without violence, let me hear it. A gesture of care and sensibility for this great nation is something that is desperately needed. Hopefully, President Biden has the courage, and intestinal fortitude to do it. JG
