Collector Coins and Jewelry, located on Main St. in Smithtown, specializes in appraising and purchasing estate jewelry as well as high-end watches and gold and silver pieces.

Collector Coins and Jewelry has seven locations on Long Island, including Huntington, Baldwin, Massapequa Park and Lynbrook. Each location is staffed by an experience gemologist. Most of the stores are open six days a week.

Owner Eddie Buz explained that Collector Coins and Jewelry has existed for 70 years, although the Smithtown store is fairly new, having opened in 2018. “We’re still growing,” said Eddie enthusiastically.

In addition to selling watches and collector worthy coins and jewelry, the specialists at Collector Coins and Jewelry also design and create custom jewelry pieces, including engagement rings, wedding bands, bracelets and necklaces from GIA certified diamonds.

When questioned about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Eddie explained that the impact was fairly negligible, since the store’s expansive inventory can be queried on their website. Prospective customers can then make a private appointment to examine a particular piece in person, which minimized the effects of the pandemic.

Mr. Buz believes that Collector Coins and Jewelry has been successful because of their ability to gain the trust of their customers and the community at large by providing excellent and honest service, especially with their appraisals.
