How we can assist the “Homeless.” (Our lives and country will be judged on how we treated the less fortunate.)
It appears consumers are favoring online purchasing apps rather than shopping at malls, giant shopping centers, mega department stores, etc. There are vacant retail spaces all over our country that can be used to relocate, educate and eventually transition the homeless off the streets and help them become contributing citizens to society. The Federal Government as well as the state governments could offer the owners a leasing agreement for these “defunct” retail outlets or buy the land outright at ten cents on the dollar. This will help ease the loss to the large landowners and at the same time “sprout” a whole new economy in these areas that would favor many industries. These “mini-hamlets” would need convenient stores, daycare centers, security, all related vocational and medical assistance, etc. The government would have to use the construction industry for renovations. It is doable and it would be a tremendous service to society as a whole. WOULDN’T IT BE SOMETHING IF COMPANIES LIKE AMAZON, WALMART, APPLE, GOOGLE, SAMSUNG, FACEBOOK, TESLA, ETC. CHIPPED IN? With innovation, professionalism, generosity, and kindness many families, single adults, and children will have a better chance at living a healthy and happy life, off the streets.
