The Masters Golf Tournament is here. So Who is the Greatest Golfer?

So who is the greatest golfer that ever lived? He will be hitting the first ceremonial tee shot on April 7th, 2022 at Augusta National Golf Club during the Masters' Tournament. No, it's not Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods. It is Gary Player the most traveled athlete of all time. At 5'6", he is not one of the taller professional golfers that ever played. Gary Player has only won over 160 professional golf tournaments around the world. During this time he was a relentless promoter of golf. As a South African, he had to overcome the stigma and false accusations of being a racist and supporter of Apartheid while playing. It was completely false. With all his estimated 16 million miles of traveling, he managed to win 24 PGA tour events and 9 major professional golf tournaments. He was a tremendous Match Play competitor and teammate. He did not receive the publicity Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus received, for the simple reason, that Mr. Player was not an American Citizen and lived approximately 8,000 miles away. While Nicklaus was at home with his family and Arnold Palmer was caring for his many enterprises and winding down his career, Gary Player was doing just that, playing and promoting golf around the world. His longevity and physicality are unparalleled. I urge you to look up his prolific record. I could not give it justice in this article. The greatest golfer that ever lived will be hitting the first ceremonial tee shot on April 7th, Gary Player.
