You live on Long Island and wake up to the lawnmowers roaring. The individual pushing that mower is probably from Central America or Mexico. You stop for gas. The person pumping gas is probably from Turkey. Pass through Dunkin’ Donuts the person serving you is probably from Pakistan or India. Enter your office building, it was probably cleaned by immigrants. Order lunch, the person preparing and delivering your food is probably from a foreign country. Call a parent in ‘Assisted Living. Your parents are probably tended to by caring individuals from the Caribbean. After work, stop at the cleaners or supermarket, guess what? A restaurant for dinner and who’s cooking and serving your dinner? The mason, roofer, plumber, carpenter, perhaps professional, etc., you hirer is probably an immigrant. Many of those immigrants are undocumented. They are psychologically persecuted every day. There are over 11 million of them, nervous every day, they may be deported. They make our lives easier every day. Please help pass a ‘Comprehensive Immigration Bill’ and do the ‘humane thing.’ Make THEIR lives easier. Not assisting them brings dishonor and shame to our great country.
