The Pale Blue Dot !!!

So Richard Branson is flying into space today! I have mixed feelings about it. This is the beginning of `mass viewing` of the Earth as a lonely pale blue dot in an ocean of relative darkness, if I can steal some words from Carl Sagan. We have so many people thirsty and hungry on Earth that it is so hard for me to endorse what Branson, Bezos and Musk are doing. I know that while in space, the Earth shows no country boundaries. The view is a true vantage point to see how connected we all are. It also shows how alone we are and that we are the stewards of our own destiny. I can only hope for our children and grandchildren that these billionaire explorers put tons of their money and discoveries into bettering the world in the future. It is up to us to push all these billionaires and the countries they live in to do `The Right Thing` and better this beautiful `Blue Marble` called Earth for future generations.
