Potatoes are a popular vegetable and it can be made in several different ways. We got fries, hash browns, mashed potatoes, tater tots, home fries and so much more. Today we celebrate National Tater Day.
This marvelous vegetable was evolved from a nightingale plant from over 350 million years ago. Potatoes were first cultivated as food in the Peruvian Andes. Since potatoes grew best in higher altitude conditions, the crops were mostly planted atop a mountain valley, near Lake Titicaca. As centuries passed by, potatoes grew in popularity and trade due to their low-maintenance features and high nutritional values, according to National Today.
National Tater Day has been celebrated since 1843. Since then people have exchanged potato slips and creating new potato recipes from several different companies.
Here are a few ways to observe this day:
- Try new potato recipes and add it to your Easter brunch.
