At the February General Meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature, Legislator Rob Trotta welcomed Rabbi Mendel Teldon to say the invocation prior to the start of the meeting.
Each legislator is assigned a date by the Presiding Officer to invite a member of the clergy from his or her district to say the opening prayer for each General Meeting of the Legislature. Legislator Trotta introduced Rabbi Teldon and noted that have been friends for some time and he occasional asks for his advice.
Rabbi Teldon joined Chabad of Commack in August of 2004 and he and his wife have made a strong presence on Judaism in the mid Suffolk County area. They continue to work together to expand their services and programs for their participants. Rabbi Teldon is very proud to be the second generation of the Chabad in Commack and hopes his children will continue the tradition and be the third generation.
