Smithtown Girls Gymnastic Team Recognized by Suffolk County Legislators

The Smithtown Girls Gymnastics team won the Suffolk County Section XI Team Championship for the second consecutive year by defeating Commack by one-tenth of a point. This was coach Jessica Berroyer’s first season as head coach and she is a 2016 graduate of Smithtown and a former gymnast.

Suffolk County Legislators Rob Trotta and Leslie Kennedy, who both represent the Smithtown area, invited the team, their coaches and the Coordinator of Physical Education, Jason Lambert, to attend the General Meeting of the Legislature to recognize them for winning the championship.

“I am so proud of these young women and their coaches and applaud their skills and team spirit,” said Legislator Rob Trotta.
