Look Left, Look Right, Step Up by the Gent

I live in “Trump Territory”. Most of my friends and acquaintances are adamant “Trump” followers.

I understand their respect and admiration for President Trump. His administration did make headway in many facets of our society, whether it be Military Defense, Tax Reform, Jobs, Immigration, Banking, Housing, Trade, Increased Income, Farm Relief, Foreign Policy, Oil, Exposing hypocrisy in government, etc.

I can’t wrap my head around why he praised QAnon, praised despicable dictators, encouraged acts of violence, insisted the 2020 election and many other elections were rigged, took classified documents home, and spoke harshly about our Justice Department and other pillars of our freedom and democracy. The President of the United States should be the most prominent example to our grade school children, middle school children, teenagers, and college students in having an unabiding respect for the pillars of our democracy and decency.

If you read all the facts, the “Trump Mystique” did have a lot of accomplishments. Those achievements were overshadowed by President Trump`s disrespect for the very tenets of our democracy. True, many judgments made in government must be reeled in. Conservativism must be revisited again but through democratic means. An autocracy is not the answer. History has taught us that. In the future, those accomplishments should be called the “Republican Mystique.” Our great country does not need violence, insurrection, bigotry, etc. I believe most Republicans and Independents believe that

. As I said in a previous article, “The Eagle needs both wings to soar.”

A side note: Considering the salary, they pay a president, I did not blame him for profiting by being president. A baseball player just received a 360 million dollar contract to play baseball for 9 years! I am aware, President Trump did not take a salary as president.
