United States of Women (Part I)
(Let me preface this entire essay by saying,” There are no 100% guarantees with anything in life,” except, of course, death and taxes)
Behind every successful man is a mother, sister, wife, x-wife, lover, secretary, etc. The Ladies get the picture. Most of us men know that when we are in a `pinch` or need some counsel, there is always a caring, smart woman to help us.
But, that does not give women the right to bash us every chance they get. We, us men, are just wired entirely different than you. We are wired for `Quasi-War.’ It is in our genes from when time began. You can call it a competition, recreation, rivalry, trial, conflict, vendetta, etc. We were truly built to protect family and property at all costs. I believe women have known that since time `In Memoriam`. Women knew to feed us and stroke our ‘egos’ because when the time came, the men were going to have to feed and protect their children, woman, and property, with a women’s unwavering assistance of course.
Yes, most men think of battle every day, consciously or unconsciously. Battles for jobs, positions, women, property, sports, freedom, love, attention, gratitude, etc. We do not express it as women do, our thoughts are mostly private and at times they will never pass our lips. Why are sports so popular in the world? It allows us to release our primal urges!
I guess, what I really want to say is, “Don’t allow the `Battle of the Sexes`, which was meant to be for flirting and eventual unification of the sexes to turn out divisive, hurtful, and ultimately turn into loneliness, heartache, separation, and divorce.” Men are trying to understand women much more. Please allow yourselves to try and understand us on a deeper level. We do have a few more than 5 thoughts to your 80 thoughts every minute.
If I may give the women and men a tidbit of advice. For Women, almost all of you have the ability to create life. Us men help just a little, to be frank. In your pursuits of satisfaction with careers and accomplishments take good care of yourselves. You have so much more `hardware` than we do to create and promulgate life. It is imperative that you take care. Please remember, we men would be in trouble without you. For the Men, listen more, buy roses more, take care of your overall health, and do not take your woman for granted. Those archaic days are over. Just one man’s opinion.
