REMINDER: OCTOBER 11: Smithtown Library District Budget Vote and Trustee Election

On October 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. residents will be able to vote for the 2022 Smithtown Special Library District Budget and Trustee Election.

The proposed 2023 Budget will total of $17,434,000. The budget includes salaries, employee benefits, library materials and programs, equipment, operations and maintenance of four buildings, as well as other expenses.

15 library board candidates will be on the ballot to fill three positions. Here are the candidates:

  • Howard Knispel
  • Theresa M. Stabile
  • Annette Galarza

  • Frank Chester
  • Michael Gannon
  • Mildred Bernstein

According to the Smithtown Library website, all residents of the Smithtown Special Library District are assigned a library building location to vote based on street address election district. Any resident can vote at any of the Smithtown Library buildings.

  • Kings Park Building (One Church Street, Kings Park, NY 11754)
  • Nesconset Building (148 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset, NY 11767)
  • Commack Building (3 Indian Head Road, Commack, NY 11725)
