Look Left, Look Right, Step Up by The Gent

Recently I had a health problem and spent several days at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. The staff there was wonderful. Attentive, professional, courteous, and patient, I could continue with the superlatives but it still wouldn’t do the staff justice.

I really wanted to mention to Long Islanders, especially, that 90% of the staff in my ward were immigrants from Jamaica, Japan, Greece, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and China. My Cardiologist/surgeon was of Indian descent. They were all smart professional adults assisting me in my time of need. It has been said so many times before. “Our country is a country of immigrants.” Long Island needs them, America needs them. They are caring for our loved ones. They are striving to be better individuals. They truly are our lifeblood. Please have more compassion for them. Please give them the respect they deserve. Please push and vote to have the 11 million undocumented immigrants assisting us every day to become legalized through positive legislation. It is the right thing to do.
