My troubled heart goes out to the Ukrainian people. Brave men, women, and defenseless children are dying. They are defending their homeland. They are fighting for democracy and freedom in their country and their ancestors, 7-10 million, who was starved and tortured by the Russians during the famine from 1932-33. Now the Russians and their monstrous leader dare to attempt it again. The world was supposed to never forget the past. Our memories are short. The Ukrainian people have set the highest standards for allegiance and patriotism. With their wisdom and perseverance, they will win. Our citizens can learn a lesson from such noble, courageous, and steadfast people. I thank them for showing us what true love of country is. One Ukrainian for all and all Ukrainians, young and old for one. May God’s light and shield protect the Ukrainian people and their sovereign homeland.
