LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT, STEP FORWARD by The Gent

Our 21st-century word lexicon continues to change with new words such as selfies, ghosting, Blockchain, Hashtag, algorithms, debugging, and syntax in our lives. They are a foreign language for many of us of a certain age. We’re having a tough time with them! Forget about the Romance, Slavic, or Semitic languages. We used to get in a booth, cuddle up, and take pictures for selfies, ghosting was just telling the person you dated that it’s just not working out. Blockchain is just another way of saying, “Ponzi Scheme.” Hashtag is another word for “snooping.” Algorithms are another excuse not to get your hands dirty and get a real job. Debugging is for Summer backyard barbeques and syntax is just writing a sentence with a subject and predicate. How hard is that? I know I simplified things but people were happier, friendlier, and amenable without them. Oh yeah, how about Fake News? Did I just post some? JG
