You're living in a beautiful “Enchanted Forest.” The forest is “run” by Bears. There are Brown “Grizzlies” to the North, Black Bears to the South, and points north, east, and west, and Polar Bears, who maintain an upper status in the higher archy of bears to the far north but hold a lot of “weight” over the ‘Enchanted Forest.’

You and your family live quite comfortably in this “Enchanted Forest.” You are able to enjoy the fresh air, the clear, crisp running streams, the mountains, the wildlife, the solitude, and the quiet peace of this great “Enchanted Forest.” The bears control all the comings and goings of the “Enchanted Forest.” In other words, if you have a complaint you go to a Tribunal of Bears or at times just the “Head Grizzly Bear.”

On an ordinary beautiful sunny morning, your daughter is walking to school and a baby cub darts out from behind a tree, knocks down your daughter, bites, and claws her face while stealing her lunchbox. She comes home crying, bleeding, and traumatized. She knows who the cub is. He is the son of the head Grizzly Bear in your territory. You call your husband and he immediately goes to the head Grizzly Bear to make a complaint. You wait until late evening and your husband never returns. You go to the head Grizzly’s office and are told, “He never made it to his office.” You are outraged, weeks pass by, and your husband never returns. You continue to make waves and your son is attacked at work. His arm is bitten off. You decide it’s best to remain silent.

Epilogue with a twist: Hypothetically, you live in an Autocratic society. Your daughter is raped by the son of the Chief of Detectives. Your husband goes to the authorities to make a complaint, never to be seen again. The Chief of Detectives comes to your house and tells you, “He will be there every month at a certain time to be ‘serviced,’ you must comply or else.” That is what an Autocracy is all about. Tell your children and everyone else to vote for Democracy. It is the best chance to live under “The Rule of Law” with all its shortcomings.
