Smithtown Library Budget Vote and Trustee Election Reminder

On Tuesday, October 10, residents of Smithtown Special Library District will be able to vote in the 2023 Smithtown Library Budget Vote and Trustee Election.

The proposed budget is $17,292,960, which includes expenditures for salaries and employee benefits, library materials, programs, equipment, capital outlays, operation and maintenance of buildings and other expenses. In addition, the proposed annual library tax would be on average $384.38.

Four candidates must be elected as library board trustees. Here are the candidates running in the election:

  • Brianna Baker-Stines
  • JoAnn Lynch
  • Christopher Sarvis
  • Vanest Avergel

Voting is open at every Smithtown Library Building from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
