The Adirondack Glassblowing Studio (ADK) partners with numerous non-profit organizations during the fall season. This weekend they are partnering with Paws of War for the Inaugural Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser.
ADK produces thousands of hand-blown glass pumpkins during this time of year. Gregory Tomb, owner and craftsman of ADK, has been in the business since 2015 making glass creations for these fundraisers.
“We’re stilling working in partnership with the town where they get a percentage of the sales from our gallery,” Tomb said. “We help bring people to town as an attraction to try glass blowing classes. We do free classes for kids at the local school and we just try to contribute to the community here.”
Visitors will enjoy a selection of hand-blown glass pumpkins with 20 percent of the proceeds going to Paws of War to help with their mission. Training and placement of service animals and companion dogs to support and provide independence to U.S. military veterans who suffer from the emotional and physical effects of war, is their basic mission.

“This is the first year that we are doing this so we would like to make this an annual event and build momentum each year and grow the awareness as well as this fundraiser to continue to raise more money and awareness for Paws of War,” said Ryan Haugstatter, Director of Development of Paws of War.
The Inaugural Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser will be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at the Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve at 200 New Highway, Commack, NY 11725 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
