I attended a barbeque Saturday. It opened my eyes to many things while enjoying the day. I saw family blending together from grandparents to children to grandchildren all in an “unchoreographed beautiful dance” of love and respect. Kudos must go to the family's generational past for this wonderful family and how the “movements” that showed respect and love have been passed down.
As you get older you begin to realize the sacrifices, patience, and determination it takes to enjoy a moment like the one I witnessed on Saturday. I watched the big smiles from each special and different child playing with their cousins and reminisced of my past long gone. I truly believe, if our society is to survive, more families must interact in the same way. Yet, at the same time, each family must respect the inner workings of all the diverse families around them. We are all the same, yet uniquely different. It is one of the mysteries of life. It is all deeper than we realize. We are here for a brief moment in time. Let us make it a beautiful one.
