The non-profit organization, Celebrate St. James (CSJ) is currently preparing to help save the St. James Calderone Theatre with the Kids Community Variety Show.
This event is an audition for kids from grades K-12. It is an open to all audition, meaning that kids could be musicians, actors, magicians, dancers, comedians, etc.
“We are not looking for the next American Idol, that is not our mission,” said Doris Meyer, president of CSJ. “We just like an opportunity for kids to shine in some way. Research has bourn out the fact that for child to express one’s self in a creative way.”

CSJ is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserve and celebrate St. James’ history and inspire an appreciation and knowledge of the arts in the community. The Calderone Theatre was believed to have been the vehicle for many stage performances in the past, according to the organization’s website. “St. James has such a rich history especially in the arts,” Meyer said.
