The Smithtown Board of Education (BOE) Budget Vote and Election is coming on Tuesday, May 16 and Smithtown school district residents are encouraged to vote.
The 2023-2024 Smithtown School District proposed school budget will be $280,642,272, which will be a 4.80 percent increase from last year. The proposed Tax Levy for this year will be $213,302,727, a 2.83 percent increase.
Programs and assets in the proposed budget include strong core academic programs, comprehensive special area and support programs, internal curriculum specialists, professional development, commitment to technology, and summer learning opportunities.

This year’s candidates will be running for three year terms starting on July 1, 2023 and concluding on June 30, 2026. Here are the candidates running for the three available seats on the board:
