Daniel George Shoemaker of East Northport has been recognized for earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor at the Burr Intermediate School in Commack.
Through his consistent dedication to the community, obtaining more than the required number of merit badges and completing his community service project, Daniel earned the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project, Daniel designed and created a rest area by installing benches and planting flowers and shrubs for the front line health care workers at South Shore University Hospital.
At the Eagle Scout Court of Honor, Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta presented Daniel George Shoemaker with a proclamation recognizing his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout.
“This is a tremendous moment for Nicholas, his family and friends and the other scouts,” said Legislator Trotta. “I hope that the younger scouts will emulate your outstanding character, leadership skills and work ethnic on their journey toward the rank of Eagle Scout. Thank you for making our community a better place.”
