Galentine's Hoots and Handmade Pottery - Fri Feb 10 6:30 pm
Sweetbriar Nature Center
Enjoy a day with your friends at the Sweetbriar Nature Center for some pottery and wildlife. Alison from Pottery on Wheels will teach you how to throw pottery on a wheel and make sculptures. The event includes everything you’ll need to make two hand thrown wheel pieces and a small sculpture. You’ll also be meeting some of the amazing ambassador owls and other animals. Second Saturdays Poetry Reading - Sat Feb 11 11:00 am
The All Souls Church will be having their Second Saturdays Poetry Reading. This reading will be hosted by Suffolk County Poet Laureate Richard Bronson. The featured poet will be Claude Mayers. Claude writes about everything from surfing (he’s been a surfer for all of his adult life) to shaving to travelling to politics to science to more existential/spiritual prophetic topics. True Crime-Love Gone Wrong - Sat Feb 11 1:00 pm
Smithtown Library (Commack Building)
The Smithtown Library will have former prosecutor Michael Vecchione. He will regale you with tales of love gone wrong with details of two cases he litigated.
