SAINT JAMES, N.Y - On Tuesday, January 10th Suffolk County Sheriff, Errol D. Toulon Jr. visited Luxor Nursing and Rehab at Mills Pond to talk to the residents and their families about neighborhood safety throughout Suffolk County.

During his time at the rehabilitation center, Toulon discussed the best ways to keep families safe away from crime. Some of which included in-person and email scams; grifters; substance abuse; pickpocketing; the best way for women to carry handbags; keeping car doors locked; the best ways to keep money and credit cards safe and weapon safety.

“I live right in Lake Grove, you are all my neighbors and you are all people I see every single day and so keeping our community safe and protecting you is my life’s mission,” Toulon said. “I think we have a great recipe for success here in Suffolk to really keep our residents safe and make it a place to live and raise our families.”

Toulon has been the sheriff of Suffolk County since 2017. He is currently in his second term at Sheriff of Suffolk County. At the end of the discussion, the residents were able to ask questions about other forms of safety.
