The Flash Series Finale (The CW/CW App): Unfortunately, The Flash limped across the finish line with a lackluster final arc that never feels as cohesive as it could have been. It never quite hits the highs of the one-two punch of episodes nine and 10 and the resolution of the Khione character arc is just frivolous and makes the whole thing a waste of time. That said, the speedster Legion of Doom was a cool touch for the finale to the point where Savitar’s involvement is easy enough to handwave away as it does not make sense based on who Savitar is. It would be nice to get a continuation comic, especially since the showrunner talked about Chronarch and Darkest Night arcs that never came out, and Max Mercury, Avery Ho, and Jessie Chambers all exist in this world now.
Being Mary Tyler Moore (Max): In a year that has had Reggie and Judy Blume Forever and Still and Love to Love You, Donna Summer, Being Mary Tyler Moore is yet another example of a competently made documentary about the life of someone famous as well as the creative process behind how her iconic characters were created and developed. It’s not bad, and if someone is interested in Mary Tyler Moore as a person, this is definitely a must-watch, however, it does not do anything unique to make it stand out among other documentaries.
The Muppets Mayhem (Disney+): Adam Goldberg’s new Muppet show is a joy as it follows the iconic band The Electric Mayhem as they set out to make their first studio album. This show is a star-studded affair with cameos from Zedd, Kevin Smith, Kesha, Lil Nas X, Danny Trejo, and more that is just a delight the entire way through. It was also a nice little nod to canonize Meet The Feebles to the Muppet universe and if one has not watched that movie, it’s a trip and a half, definitely not for kids, and must be watched (it’s free on TubiTV).
